The Beginning DVD

In 1957, actor Jack Webb starred in "The DI", playing tough guy Marine Corps Drill Instructor Sgt. Jim Moore, terrifying generations of young men about the harsh conditions of Marine boot camp. "The Beginning" is the real thing- a rare film produced by the Marine Corps for recruits entering boot camp. It covers every aspect of Marine boot camp life at Parris Island in the 1950s- beginning with haircuts, drills, forced marches, the rifle range, and finally graduation. The film shows Parris Island as it existed in 1953- "Iron Mike", the parade deck, the firle range, old barracks, the chapel, and many other sites. This film is a must have for any former or current Marine.

Approximate running time is 34 minutes.
